Church of Carmine, Piazza Tasso, Sorrento | Sorrento, Campania (Italy) (IMG_2875.jpg)

Church of Carmine, Piazza Tasso, Sorrento

The church of Carmine was reconstructed at the end of the 15th century on the remains of an ancient church that was dedicated to the sacred Sorrentine Martys. The church has a single nave; located at the end there is an ancient impression of Mary (a copy of the dark skinned Virgin of the church of the same Saint in Naples). There are also some other paintings from the 16th and 17th centuries. Also located inside the church are two artistic gilded wooden bone containers of Saints dating back to the 16th century.
