Decorated Wall of the Causeway, Pyramid of Unas, Saqqara

The causeway connecting the valley temple to the mortuary temple of Unas's pyramid complex was constructed along the path provided by a natural wadi. The walls were 4 m high, and 2.04 m thick. The passageway was about 2.65 m wide. It had a roof constructed from slabs 0.45 m thick projecting from each wall toward the center.The causeway, at between 720 m and 750 m long, was among the longest constructed for any pyramid. The causeway is also the best preserved of any from the Old Kingdom.
