Selinunte - Remains of Temple of Apollo (Temple G)

Temple G was the last and largest of the trio. It is thought to have been built around 530 BC, but was never completed. This large temple was the fourth largest Greek temple ever built, not only in Sicily but in the entire Greek world. Unfortunately, only one large column is still standing. The rest of Temple G is a great pile of large stones. The temple had 8 columns on the facade and 17 along the sides including the angle. The temple measured 113.14 x 54.05 m at the stylobate, column height 16.27 m.
