Husseren-les-Châteaux and Three Castles of Eguisheim, Alsace, France

Husseren-les-Châteaux is a village in the Haut-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. This village is known for its placement along 'La Route des Vins d'Alsace', a beautifully scenic drive through the vineyards of the Vosges mountains, slightly south of Colmar. Three Castles of Eguisheim – from north to south called the Dagsburg, the Wahlenburg and Weckmund Castle – were built in close proximity to one another, but not at the same time, on a low hill ridge. This type of arrangement, with a cluster of three castles, is found in several places in the Vosge and the nearby Palatine Forest in Germany.
