The Pigeonnier (the pigeon loft) is the most photogenic building in Eguisheim. It is very narrow, and sits at the fork in the road between the inner and outer "rampart" roads that circle the town and date from the original construction of the town eight or nine centuries ago. It's called the pigeon loft because that's where their culinary pigeons were raised.
