La Corona as seen from Mirador del Río, Lanzarote
At 609m, La Corona is the biggest volcano on the north of Lanzarote. It is considered a young volcano (4000 – 5000 years old) and is of strombolian type, characteristic for its impressive crater and abundant lavas which formed one of the longest volcanic tunnels on Earth.
