Colored Sand Park in The Big Crater (HaMakhtesh HaGadol)

HaMakhtesh HaGadol (The Big Crater) is called thus not because it is the biggest in Israel, but because it was considered so until the "discoveryā€¯ of the larger Makhtesh Ramon (The Ramon Crater). HaMakhtesh HaGadol (The Big Crater), located at Mount Negev, is a Nature Reserve which spreads over nearly 40,000 dunams of sands, hills, ridges and various colors rock formations. The length of the crater is 12 kilometers and the width is 5 kilometers.
