Field of potato shaped rocks and Mount Zin

There are those who identify Mount Zin with the burial place of Aaron the Levite (the brother of Moses and the first High Priest of the Israelites). The Zin desert is the Biblical desert from which the 12 spies were sent by Moses to tour the promised land and it marks the historical border of Israel in biblical times: "And their south boundary ran from the end of the Salt Sea, from the bay that faces southward. It goes out southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, passes along to Zin, and goes up south of Kadesh-barnea, along by Hezron, up to Addar, turns about to Karka." (Joshua 15 2:3)
