This Granny house was built in Gutach in 1652. The elderly farm couple, after handing over the farm to the next generation, lived out their remaining years in the Granny house. The heir to the farm was responsible for looking after the retired farmer and his wife after the hand-over, the conditions of which were stated in the contract of exchange. After their death, the little house could be rented to relatives or casual labourers.
